Follow your passion

Fitness, nutrition, and health, are my passion. I work out almost every day – running, walking, going to the gym, taking or teaching classes. I have been a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach since 2006, and continue to add to  my training year after year with new specialties, skills, and expertise.  I am also a certified group fitness instructor. I most teach HIIT classes and weight training classes, but also step for indoor cycling, TRX, boxing,  kickboxing, and yoga/stretch). As an early adopter of fitness trackers,  I a proponent for in-the-zone/peak performance training.

A long-time member and huge fan of MINT Gym in Washington, DC, I highly recommend their great facilities, amenities, and extraordinary instructors (including me <wink>). I also used to head up the MINT Ambassador and Community Partner programs.  I now live in the New York area and can be found at Equinox gyms.

Whenever I travel, I love to discover new gyms and studios.  See my list of recommended Gyms and Fitness classes on Yelp.

Obstacle Course Races

I got into OCR in 2019 with my first Spartan Sprint race in June that year at Tuxedo Hill, NY. I had always thought it would be nearly impossible for me to do one of these races… I’m too old, I’m not a big runner, I will be on my own…. fill in any excuse here… As it turned out, I embraced the challenges, am always getting a bit better, and now enjoy coaching others. These races are a ton of fun and push you outside your comfort zone!  I completed 6 Spartan races that first year, earned my first “Trifecta”, and finished 2nd in age group in my first Spartan trail run. Fast forward to the end of 2024, I have 202 races under my belt, include 7 ultra-marathons.
