Follow your passion
Health, nutrition, and fitness are my passion. I usually work out every day – running or going to the gym and taking classes (spin classes, weights/body sculpting, bootcamp, TRX, boxing, kickboxing, and yoga). I have been a certified personal trainer and nutritionist since 2006, and continue to add to my training year after year with new specialties, skills, and expertise. As an early adopter of fitness trackers and heart rate monitor, I a proponent for in-the-zone/peak performance training.
A long-time member and huge fan of MINT Gym, I highly recommend their great facilities, amenities, and extraordinary instructors. I also happen to head up the MINT Ambassador and Community Partner programs.
Since the start of COVID-19, I am offering free HIIT (high intensity interval training) classes on Zoom for free. Join me for a great workout on Saturday mornings at 11am. These classes are challenging but also lots of fun, open to all levels of fitness, and no equipment is needed. You can find the link for the event on Instagram/Facebook or just contact me if you want to be added to my mailing list.
Whenever I travel, I love to discover new gyms and studios. See my list of recommended Gyms and Fitness classes on Yelp.

Obstacle Challenge Races
I go into OCR in 2019 with my first Spartan Sprint race in June. I had always thought it would be nearly impossible for me to do one of these races at my age, and on my own. It turned not, only to be doable – albeit a challenge, but a ton of fun! In 2019, I completed 6 Spartan races, earned my first trifecta and finished 2nd in age group in my first Spartan trail run. I also absolutely loved the Bonefrog Challenge race in DC, despite the 105ªF heat, and enjoyed the Savage Race in Florida.
My goal was for 2020 is to earn a double trifecta with Spartan and a Trident with Bonefrog but obviously that got put on hold. In 2021, I’m thrilled to say my ambitious goals are back on and I’ve earned my first Bonefrog Trident, next up will be a double Spartan Trifecta! #biggoals #pushyourlimits
The 2020 curve ball
Like many, I had great plans and lofty goals for 2020 many of which were squashed. I decided not to let that stop me entirely though, and motivated myself to keep going through virtual races. Bonefrog, Spartan, Savage, Tough Mudder, and City Challenges all have some great options to choose from.
I also offered free fitness classes (Zoom) on Saturdays for a year. As of May 2021, I have put these on hold but will be offering special one-off classes here and there, including some outside in DC parks. If you want to be added to my mailing list just let me know.
