July 3-5 Happy Holiday Bake Sale

In the spirit of July 4th, I decided to change my menu up a bit and make a mix of sweet and savory for the holiday weekend:

1. White Bean Chicken Chili (one for $12.00, two for $20.00)
A hearty and healthy white bean chili made with homemade chicken broth and tender rotisserie chicken. Mildly spicy, deliciously creamy. (tortilla chips and avocado not included)

2. Roasted Corn Cornbread ($2.00)
A nice light cornbread with fire roasted sweet corn and sharp cheddar cheese. Pairs beautifully with the above mentioned white bean chili but also fantastic topped with butter and/or honey for breakfast or even dessert.

3. Very Berry Blueberry Crumble ($3 singles, $15 serves 6)
This is the best blueberry dessert you can imagine, with a lovely burbling blueberry filling that’s not too sweet and not too tart, covered with a buttery oat cookie topping. If you have ice cream at home, enjoy your crumble à la mode!

4. Bourbon Chocolate Bacon Chunk Cookies ($2.50)
Yes, you read that correctly — I said Bacon! The saltiness of the bacon combined with the tannins of the chocolate creates an amazing flavor that’s unforgettable. The alcohol burns out in the baking process, so you don’t need to worry about whether or not you should be serving these cookies to kids. Everyone can eat them — and will!

Last minute additions to the menu…

5. Financier ($1.50)
Traditional French almond pastry. Light and moist on the inside with a slightly crisp exterior, flavored with beurre noisette (browned butter) and topped with dark chocolate shavings.

6. Ghirardelli White Chocolate Crème Brûlée ($5.00)
Classic French crème brûlée with a delicious rich custard base and a light crust of caramel, made even better with Ghirardelli White Chocolate.
