Inspired by the dill I saw at the farmers’ market this weekend, I decided to do something a little fancy this weekend for the main course. Here is my menu for this weekend:
1. Salmon with cucumber and fennel salad (one for $15, two for $25)
Poached salmon filet with sour cream dill sauce, served with a refreshing cucumber and roasted fennel salad.
2. S’Mores Brownies ($4)
Nothing says Summer like s’mores do. Deliciously chewy and chocolaty brownies on homemade graham crackers topped with homemade Italian meringue (similar to marshmallow fluff). All together amazing! [LIMITED QUANTITY]
3. Pear-Almond Croute ($3 for one; $15 serves 6) [SINGLE SERVINGS SOLD OUT]
A wonderfully light and not-too-sweet dessert, a fusion of a clafouti and frangipane, made with pears and almond meal. These are great warm or cold, and you can also top it with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
4.Cookies du Jour: Oatmeal Sablés from Lindt Chocolate ($2.50)
These cookies are a cross between the traditional homemade Dutch shortbread cookies and a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie but without the nuts. Pronounced “sah-blay”, this is a twist on the traditional recipe using oatmeal, and just the perfect touch of Lindt White Chocolate.
5. Back-up cookies this week include: Lindt Dark Chocolate Chunk Cookies, Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies, or Roasted Peanut Peanut Butter Cookies ($2.50 each)
Free (contact-less) delivery in Edgewood-Brookland or nearby, with $20 purchase.
